Parents, if you want your child referred to the PPC, we encourage you to contact your pediatric care provider. This service is only available through your primary care provider who has to be a participating member.

The mission of the NJPPC is to transform access to mental health care by empowering pediatric care providers. The NJPPC provides pediatric care providers with timely access to child and adolescent psychiatric consultation and facilitates referrals for accessing ongoing mental health care. The pediatric care provider manages your child’s mental health needs (including medications when indicated) through ongoing collaboration with NJPPC mental health professionals. Our team of social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists, are committed to sharing their expertise with you and your pediatric care provider to develop treatment plans that suit your child’s needs!

Psychiatric Evaluations

Care Coordination
- The assigned clinical navigator contacts parents to complete a biopsychosocial assessment
- Navigators research and outreach to community resources and providers, evaluate care options (CBT, psychiatric evaluations, etc.), and connect with families to make appropriate referrals to community resources tailored to the patient’s clinical needs
- Our team works to find resources and services that are in-network with each patient’s insurance and looks to ensure that there are limited wait times to help mitigate common barriers of connecting to services
Follow Up Services
- Mental Health Specialists call within one week to ensure connections have been made with appropriate resources. If not, the patient will be followed up with until the appropriate connections are made with the community provider.
- Navigators expand the breadth of resources available to the patient and family.
